Our flock began in 1996 with
a goal of producing high quality, Hampshire influenced club lambs. We
started with the purchase of ten of Jimmy Miller's keeper yearling ewes
and a ram from Mike Hancock. Since then we have incorporated genetics from
other elite breeders such as Mike Stitzlein, Larry Shell and Bob & Ben
Marcantel.
Currently, our forty-five head ewe flock primarily consists of daughters
of 'Buckeye' (Stitzlein), 'Demon' (Shell) and 'Charlie' (Charleville).
'Buckeye' produced some very
important females that have consistently generated square hipped, flat
loined, shallow ribbed lambs.
Our 'Demon' daughters are
very impressive to look at. They are big, stout boned ewes that are very
correct in their skeletal makeup. The Reserve Grand Market Lambs at the
2004 and 2005 Arkansas-Oklahoma State Fair; the Reserve Grand Market Lamb
at the 2005
Arkansas
State Fair and three stud rams have been produced by some of our 'Demon'
ewes.
'Charlie' has proven to be
the most influential stud ram purchase we have made thus far. A sincere
thanks to the Charleville's and Marcantel's of Louisiana for finding and
selling us this ten-year-old, line bred Cabaniss 212 masterpiece! Take a
look at some of his offspring on the Winners page! We have also retained
several 'Charlie' daughters back into the flock and are waiting eagerly to
see what they generate for the 2006 lamb crop.
