The Victory Lamb Camp
happens every summer in June at the McCurtain County Fairgrounds in
Idabel, Oklahoma. This camp is for FFA and 4-H members and parents who
want to learn more about their projects to become more competitive in the
show ring. In 2005, the camp expanded to include goats.
The camp is organized and sponsored by the Haworth, Oklahoma FFA Chapter.
Attendees experience three days of intense instruction which includes:
animal nutrition and feeding; animal health and welfare; clipping,
grooming and show day preparation; showmanship and show ring techniques
and ethics.
With at least three practice shows each day, this camp is a great way to
start the year. Students are divided according to experience level to get
the specific, individual teaching they need. The camp is concluded with
the Sun Country Classic, a jackpot show open to all.
This camp is a great opportunity to meet others, learn more about sheep
and goats, have fun and get the edge on the competition! Feel free
to contact us with any questions.
